Is your car really low? That'll put extra stress on it. Are you getting the correct ones? I'm pretty sure axles don't need breaking in.

Autozone axles just plan F N suck...I'm on like my 10th set. I too have a 92 teg with b18c1 just installed a month ago. I have lifetime warranty with both axles. Driverside is from autozone and passenger is from oreillys. Never had a problem with oreillys passenger axle. But I'm planning on upgrading to stronger ones that are not at any local shops. Probably hasports. You should look into em. Autozone probably uses cheap material to rebuild them. Not trying to bash on your work place. I'm just talking about the axles. Some other products are good though...

You guys do know that Autozone and O'reillys are both made by cardone. In fact just about every aftermarket remanufactured cv axles are supplied by Cardone.

cardone select are not re-manufactured axles like the standard cardone axles, the select axles are brand new T6 heat treated shafts and GSR sized cv joints, where as standard LS style axles use smaller parts.

I'm thinking that's probably the problem here.

i have the same setup autozone on the driver side and oreilys on the passenger side. my autozone axle boot rip and its only been about 4-6 months of normal driving. i only notice the rip on the inner boot because i had the car on a lift. so i think it might have happen way before that. oreillys is much better than autozone.

really simple

autozone axles are pretty cheap....BUT. if you keep breaking them

1. your car is too low
2. your ball joints are sloppy

that's more or less it, being too low will tweak the driveline angle and load them in a direction they were not designed. sloppy balljoints will hammer CV's

this is really about it

So that last axle I put on last week lasted me to about now...LOL'

As for the guy who has driverside autozone and passenger side oriellys..
My passenger hasn't snapped...is that only cus the driverside wheel is the really the one doing the spinning?

As for my balljoints...
I've replaced them about 4 months ago...they don't look bad..but ill take a look at it again in the
morning
Could my tranny, motor mounts or anything else cause me to be snapping my axles?

Its always breaking from the inner boot that connects to the intermediate shaft..
I've had people tell me cus it was low..
But I have friends with cars that are slammed that haven't broke an axle..

Someone told me its cus of the stock axles that can't take the load of the b20v..
But I've seen people with far more power running on stock axles

Gonna replace this axle in the morning..
Anyone has any other ideas..id greatly appreciate it
Thanks

i recently tried out ultra8 axles for a customer crv. i've never had any problems with altrom brand parts. cheap and very decent quality.
one thing you may wanna do whenever you get a a new or reman axle(s) is get rid of the shitty grease they use and put some good stuff in there. it doesn't take long to do and it'll prolong the life.

-to the op, have you checked your intermediate shaft? maybe it's seizing. by now, it should be painfully obvious that it's not the actual axle that's the problem

I just get new ones every time. They are warrantied right? I know Carquest will just keep swapping them out over and over as long as your ball joints check out you should never have a problem. Weird.

Keep us posted. I'm curious if they keep getting screwed up. You don't have any accident damage from that past do you? You inspected everything underneath? You can have any body shop with a frame machine check it out for you on their rack. They have a computer hooked up to it with a database that will scan key points on your chassis and tell you exactly what's up.

so i put on the new reman axle...
and i notice that the inner boot from the axle is suctioned up..
i pop it back in and it goes to normal

i think thats my problem..
the axle is extending out and thats how its snapping,,

also my wheel seems to be slanted/cambered out
but i have no camber wear on my tire
its been like that for months

just thought that would help
might take it to someone who knows more about suspension than i do

@smitherz no i dont have any accident damage that i know of
ive had the car for about a year...the car has a clean title

titles are meaningless in many cases. many "clean" can be wrecked cars that were never sent to insurance

get an alignment, see where the numbers are. yes shot mounts can kill axles but you would hear slapping from the engine tranny rocking around

**UPDATE**

So I went to oriellys and bought a new axle...
Same story..
Drove down my street and it snapped

Checked my ball joint...its pretty messed up
Gonna replace it tomorrow

Other than that...idk what to do
Something is missing or making my axle extend which makes the inner boot suction up and snap when I drive it

Any suggestions?
