Pretty sure that's how I did it, and mine works great. Hell of alot better than spending money on an adapter.

Yeah I couldnt see myself paying $40 for an adapter. lol. Did you de-pin and repin them into the obd1 plug or cut and solder? Dont know if the pins are the same? Thanks for the reply.

The pins are the same on the 7 wire connector, the 2 pin connectors use different pins

Yup thats the correct wiring.... Just did it on my H swap and it works.
