Default Questions on what i would need to use aem and use there coil on plug setup?

Well people I am not going to wait two months for a coil on plug retrofit to become available from hondata. I was thinking of switching to a aem engine management setup for my car and running there coil on plug setup because I wouldn't have to wait forever for parts to come in. I am curious what would I have to buy for the car to run it? I know I would need the Aem ems 30-6040, aem twin fire ignition module. My next question is I am doing this on my h22 so what coils should I go with? Also will I still be able to use my boost a gear that I am currently running on my hondata s300 or would I have to ditch it? Or if there is another solution to running coil on plug on my car and keeping my hondata s300 I would be interested in hearing this as well. Some of you may be wondering why I am so set on coil on plug and that is because I am shooting for about 800hp and just want to have the best ignition system possible and not have to worry about ignition problems. Any help would be fantastic because at this point im sort of stuck up a creek without a paddle.

i have the whole aem system, and i like it. as far as "boost by gear", i have it set up through the rear abs sensor to the V2.

The AEM COP setup comes with the EPM and coils. All you "need" is an AEM EMS. And if you want to run some real boost a CDI.

I stock all of the above and sell them frequently.

I thought you were direct driving the k coils off the aem? Are you running a cdi box now?

You don't HAVE to run the CDI box but you should if you want to run real boost.

Here is the AEM COP kit and everything that comes with it.

OVERVIEW
AEM’s B-Series Coil-On-Plug (COP) Conversion Kit eliminates both the known performance issues common to the B-series engine’s factory igniter and the need to replace your aging cap/rotor/wire assembly. It delivers outstanding coil-on-plug performance for stock to moderately modified engines at an affordable price because you do not need to add a capacitive discharge ignition module to make this conversion.

WHY YOU WANT ONE
AEM’s COP B-series Conversion Kit is the perfect ignition upgrade for naturally-aspirated or boosted B-Series engines that do not exceed 15 PSI of boost. It is highly affordable as it does not require the integration of a CDI module. For the weekend racer or performance enthusiast, it eliminates the dwell issues common to the factory distributor as RPM increases by providing an individual coil for each cylinder.

If your B-Series engine is stock or mildly modified, why replace factory components when you can upgrade to an affordable, premium NO MAINTENANCE coil-on-plug ignition system? It is commonly known that the factory igniter on the B-Series engine is prone to failure. Further, as distributors age timing signal quality can decrease and lead to poor engine performance.

AEM’s B-Series COP Conversion Kit eliminates energy losses associated with a deteriorated cap/rotor/wire assembly and includes an igniter that has been tested under the most rigorous conditions we could conceive—run at over 10,000 RPM for over 24 hours with a dwell time that was advanced almost 50% of the way past current saturation (3.2mS versus 2.2mS)—and it did not fail.

WHAT IF I AM RUNNING OVER 15 PSI OF BOOST?
If your turbocharged B-Series race engine is running boost pressures higher than 15 PSI, adding AEM’s Twin-Fire Capacitive Discharge Ignition (AEM P/N 30-2821 4-Channel, sold separately) in place of the 4-Channel Coil Driver igniter will ensure adequate spark energy is delivered to the plugs regardless of boost pressure. By adding the Twin-Fire CDI, horsepower limitations become dependent on an engine’s mechanical and fueling system limitations and not spark energy delivered by the ignition system(Installation of the Twin-Fire is not a plug & play application additional wiring required)..

ADVANCED FEATURES AND SIMPLE INSTALLATION
AEM’s COP B-Series Conversion Kit is ideal for use with the AEM EMS and most aftermarket ECUs, and includes instructions for easy wire routing. It also allows for individual ignition trim tuning via a programmable EMS.

The COP B-Series Conversion Kit includes AEM’s Engine Position Module to deliver a reliable timing pattern for the AEM EMS or other aftermarket EMS, a 4-Channel Coil Driver that drives 2-wire “dumb” coils, AEM’s CDI Pencil Coils, a Motorsports-grade harness and connectors and a plug & play wiring harness that is labeled and silk-screened for simple installation.

AEM B-SERIES COP CONVERSION RACER FEATURES

Delivers outstanding coil-on-plug performance without the added cost of a CDI!
Upgrade to a ‘No Maintenance” ignition system! Eliminates all known factory ignition system issues
Ideal for B-Series engines from naturally aspirated to boosted versions that do not exceed 15 PSI
A complete COP conversion system with comprehensive instructions and design that eases installation

AEM B-SERIES COP CONVERSION TUNER FEATURES

Yes...when I called aem and spoke with them they said the smart coil can handle more then 500hp per cylinder. That's more then any 4 cylinder Honda is currently making.

you can get a aem ems v2, epm, k-series coils, and rywire has a adapting "plug n play" wiring harness. If you have a v1 ems, then you have to wire cylinder 1 and 4 together - and wire cylinder 2 and 3 together for wasted spark. The verion 1 ems cant run sequential fire..

. The EPM works, but take it apart and re-tighten everything with loctite if you go with that over the T1 trigger..
I also prefer the k-coils, what i see as the weak part of the system is the twin-fire, they really are hit or miss.
