I threw out the b18a1 and swapped a used b16a1, after started blowing black smoke from the azz end swapped a b16b i bought online. now i was wondering if there are major gains in buying the obd0 to obd2a ecu conversion to install the pct ecu instead of the pr3. pros. or cons.???

 

No. Stop using bandaids and actually fix the problems.

just wanting to know if there are any horsepower gains or better fuel mapping on the civic type r ecu compared to the xsi ecu, if not then its not worth my money.

 

better to just get the one you have,(if it is vtec ecu) tuned vs. buying and fitting that sucker on there .....the civic type-r ecu may help you put out more power.... but for the money you can custom tune the one you have to bump the power and UNLESS by your getting this type-r ecu at a deal it not that great

 

type r ecu came with the swap, was gonna either bye the wire conversion from rywire.com or from a friend of a friend, you know how that goes but id most likely shell out the money for something new.
