Default Ignition coil question.

I just replaced my ignition coil on my 1990 crx b16 swap. I replaced it with the coil off of the 1990 Integra LS because they are interchangeable. My question is, i just noticed the metal plate on the bottom of the stock coil is removable, do i need to put it on the new coil? Will it cause a problem without it? I dont want to risk stripping the button screw if i dont need to put the plate on. Any input is greatly appreciated.
