Solution to Honda civic/Acura integra short shifter scrapping
This is a problem I've seen alot of people have with there short shifters and i was fixing mine a figured why not??THIS IS A VERY SIMPLE FIX!!!!
Problem: short shifter hits heat shield causing it being hard to shift or makeing annoying ratting noise.
Tools you will need-
-your head
-two or four small lock washers ( i had some laying around )
-12mm socket wrench and a nice extension
-a hammer
Steps to solve this
-First you have to undo the heat shield by the middle two 12mm bolts located in the middle of the heat shield on it.(you will have to take off your exhaust to do this)
-After doing that then remove the shield and you should see were you heat and your short shifter have been scrapped..take a hammer to those areas like so seen in the pictures below.(i already did mine and do not have before and after sorry)
-There now should be at least a 1/2inch indention in the heat shield
-Then finally apply the lock washer on the back of the heat shield like so in the picture and bolt back up.**side note:you can also apply two to the front if that helps(the two that are closest to the front)for more space depending on how much you need!
*****this should eliminate the scrapeing and the ratting while still having a heat shield,do not just take off the heat shield because as the name imply's it is needed to keep the heat away from you!*******
please leave positive comments tell me if it worked ,or if anything i said should clearer thx
