Default 1999 auto prelude transmission question

I got a base 99 prelude with a bad auto trans. It has triptronic

What other transmission will work? What years are compatable?

Im not looking to a manual conversion becuase im just flipping the car for some quick money

So im looking for a drop in, with no cel or anything crazy. Anyone got any insight for me?

Maybe better response if you left this part out?? "... im just flipping the car for some quick money."

I don't think anything other than another triptronic will work, never heard of anyone trying a auto from another car.

the only drop in that will work directly is another of the same transmission. you cant just "bolt up" a different transmission without modification. and if you're trying to "flip" a car without knowing how to do the work yourself... you're probably not going to make much on it.

This topic I posted is a current topic. Please read my posts there and read the links referring to the TCM possibility. Of course, you should only read this if you want to be sure about needing a whole new trans before spending all that $$. I am a theorists, but early 90's auto accords had a very high TCM failure (just an electrical part) and, sure enough, apparently the 97+ auto preludes have high failures of trans. I seriously wonder if it is the TCM in the preludes as well. It's work a $20 junkyard part to see if it saves you $2grand.
