Default Please Help 93 Prelude

Hello everyone,

My name is Bryan and I am looking for some assistance. My friend has a 1993 Prelude with the digital cluster and he has gone though like 4. They just keep going bad. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. As a Ford tech myself, I am very familiar with faulty electrical parts. For example, the EATC on most 90's Ford vehicles had a bad connections on the relay that's inside of the EATC, thus when you press A/C, it would go to DEFROST. Once you re-soldered the joint back to the circuit board, all was well again. I was wondering if that's whats going on here with my friends Prelude. Is there an article I can view or does anyone have anything they can contribute?

Appreciate all the help in advance, below is a link on what I am referring to on the Ford EATC's.

Bryan

Do you know what specifically is happening with his clusters?

Mine has worked perfectly for 16 years...haven't heard of any common problems either.

Hello sorry for the delayed response, I have been out of town for a few weeks.

The problem he is having is that the Fuel and Temp gauge either stop working or work intermittently. That's why I figured it was a similar issue to the EATC's that I was talking about.

Supposedly its a common problem with these clusters. But I will take a closer look at the battery voltage. How many volts does this cluster take? 12? I don't have access to a Honda Manual like I do FSM's. (Ford Service Manuals)
