Default Making my turbo better

I was wondering what could be done to a turbo without changing the internals so make it flow more/faster/better/whatever. just curious about things like p&p and other stuff.

piping should be smooth, and there should be as few bends as possible in the piping. Also, larger piping will let more air flow with less restriction. You could also get a larger TB.

im thinking of mods to the turbo itself, but little things to modify/change in the whole system would be nice to know too.

Yeah..least amount of bends as possible. I boost controller will help a lot. make sure you have a free flowing exhaust, or you can get a small turbo...T25mall would be fine....hehe

You could send the exhaust housing to extrude hone. I am kicking the idea around of sending them my turbo, since I won't be putting all this crap on my car for a few months.

the turbo i am getting is a t3/t4 .50/.48. its pretty small and will be hitting full boost around 3k. the post says increase spool time by 4-600rpm. would this hold true for the turbo im getting?

AGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!! wrong!
For exhaust bigger is better but for piping (i/c piping, intake piping etc) bigger ISNT always better!

I don't know... Louis Anaya (TurbochargedSER) was claiming that.

What motor are you using? I'm curious to know when youre turbo (RPM) runs out of breath. Have you considered changing your exhaust side to a .63 A/R instead of .48 ?

Sending the Turbine Housing to Extrude Hone can help efficiency by 2-3 %.

Getting the Turbine Housing thermally coated, like Swain, HPC or Jet Hot.

not sure if you were going to say anything else there. and im not looking for huge power. just low to mid 200whp. its a b18b too and it will have a 2.5" dp. and im still not sure what exhaust im gonna get.

not true, you will loose volumetric efficiency if you do this. Bigger isnt better.

is 2.5" piping too big. i already ordered it because my bov is coming mounted on a 8inch piece of 2.5". could i just use a reducer and make it 2" before the tb or is it not something to worry about?

2.5 is allright, you will still have enough efficeincy with that. Its just that the bigger the pipe, to harder your tubo has to work to make the same boost it would make with smaller pipeing. Theres more room for it to fill up. Wasteing energy filling up space rather then going into the motor
