Default Want new muffler or catback

Ok I have a 97 Honda prelude love this car it is my life but when I got it I was young an stupid an bought the biggest yet dumbest looking exaust system for it so I am wanting to find a good an decent priced muffler or cutback exhaust that sounds amazing but is dual tipped an looks almost stock cause I have a greedy evo2 on it now an it is huge it's ugly with out a rear lip kit on it so any info or help will be greatly appreciated

The fist companies that come to mind for exhaust components are Vibrant and Kteller.

Twin loop mufflers like Mugen sound pretty good and don't look out of place, but it's a pretty expensive exhaust unless you intend to just get a twin-loop style muffler to replace the current one.

Greddy exhausts are known for their resonator issues, tends to make the exhaust sound horrible over time. Unfortunate, despite the awkward size of the Evo2's muffler, it can sound pretty good with the right setup. But do agree 100% that it's an eyesore without the proper rear lip.

When you do swap out the muffler/exhaust - you'll be able to sell it. From my understandings, Greddy discontinued the Evo2 system for our cars.

Borla and magnaflow both make 2.25 single in/dual out that would work well. I just replaced my stock muffler with a borla and although the tips are bigger they don't look huge or rediculous. I think cops would say it looks stock. Mine has a nice deep sound as well and doesn't drone too loud on the highway either.

I have to disagree on this one.. 3" is way too big unless you are boosting your car. 2.25" - 2.5" will give you plenty of flow over the stock 2 inch without being too loud.

I also agree. Though I thought it was dyno proven to make slightly more power, its gonna sound poopy. I dunno how much you drive on the highway but with something that big its going to be way louder than it needs to be.

3" will not give you more power than a 2.5" on a stock motor. now if it was built, especially boosted, then a 3" might help. but the stock motor was designed to run well with that 2" on there. you can free up some horses with a slightly higher flowing exhaust but you cant just keep getting bigger and bigger and expect your engine to just magically increase in power. if that were true you'd see people everywhere running open 3" headers for cheap power! lol
