D16a6 head on d15b6 block??
Don't want to start a new thread for this so i just bought a d15b6 motor and its got a d16a6 head on it but they didn't swap the pistons over. So i want to know would this cause immediate damage upon start up or something that would take time to happen.
Immediate. Think about it, if the piston only accomodates 2/4 valves, would do you think will happen to the 2 valves that don't have relief cuts in the piston?

Yeah i took a look at the pistons and there stock. I even heard the car start before i bought it and it sounded fine so didn't think anything of it till i took a closer look but **** i guess if it ran fine I'll just run it as is and see what happens. I'll Also check what the compression is at when i start it up.
So the pistons only had two valve reliefs each? And he had the head seperated to show you? And you saw 16 valves? And you saw him reassemble and fire the car up?
Yes only 2 relief valves and no he didn't take it apart and show me he just started it. I took a look at all that when i got back and that's when i realized the pistons were stock and yeah theres 16 valves.
Well maybe you just proved you don't need to swap pistons? Any chance you can take pictures and post them? Any evidence that the pistons are coming into contact with the valves at all?
