K20a2 Possibility of clutch installed backwards?
Hi Honda-tech it's been a while! I only post when I can't find info on something. I'm gonna cut straight to the point.
I installed an exedy stage 2 on my friends RSX. Had no problems and it functioned properly for about 4 months. Then the motor blew. My friend had a shop totally rebuild the motor. About a month later the clutch failed. The car wouldn't move. So my friend asked me to put a new clutch on. So I did and the car has been fine for a few months. We sent the clutch back to exedy. They said the clutch was installed backwards. I KNOW THAT I DIDNT INSTALL IT BACKWARDS. I'm a trained technician. But idk about that shop.
So my question is: Is it EVEN possible to install a clutch disc backwards on a k20?

im not sure on the specifics of the exedy stage 2, but i know some manufacturers will use two different friction materials on either side and they will specify which side faces the flywheel. so yes, it is possible.
It just doesn't seem likely that you can. The center hub of the clutch disc looks like it would contact the flywheel and not allow the clutch to function AT ALL.. Does anyone know for sure?
