COULD A LOOSE ALTERNATOR BELT CAUSE THE BATTERY TO NOT FULLY CHARGE? I WILL TEST THE ALTERNATOR BUT WANT TO KNOW.

 

NORMALLY YOU ONLY SEE THAT WHEN... (remove the caps lock...) vehicle is sitting at idle and lights, etc drop (especially if you have an ammeter). I would suspect that you would hear squeeling with a loose belt. You more than likely have a bad battery with a shorted cell. Easy way to find out which it is:

Test alternator output with voltmeter - on output stud
Take battery in to store and have them do a load test

 

Sorry about the caps.....the battey was tested and it tested good. I do hear squealing.

 

...just busting your nuts... OK, than your belt is loose. I would probably pick up a new set since you will be in there anyways replacing the alt belt. Its probably toast, glazed, stretched, etc.

 

i may have just gotten the wrong belt.....still trying to order parts for myb20. i got the belt telling autozone itwas a 98 crv.
