I've been trying to find a set of HX wheels that aren't trashed/painted or 1/2 way across the country (most people don't want to ship). I really want to add them to my 91 Si as not only a small, lightweight wheel but staying OEM as well.

They list for 572 for a set of 4, and 38 for shipping.

Am I crazy for thinking about getting these?

 

I don't think that's crazy at all. If I had the means, I would too.
Minty OEM wheels are hard to find to begin with, and when they are available they're usually in the $300-500 range (around my parts anyway). You're really only paying a couple hundred more for the satisfaction of having brand new original goods.

But if money is a concern I'm sure you can find a good used set for a bit cheaper with a little patience. Try eBay as well.

EDIT - another alternative would be to get a used cheap set and refinish them yourself. Wheel paint in a can looks great, I've used Diplicolor silver before and the finish looks fantastic and is very durable. Not as good as original OEM, but it works if cost is a concern.

 

I know you are looking for an OEM wheel, but for the price I'd recommend going with some Konig Eco1's. They're lighter and slightly wider than the HX's. Plus, they cost less than $100/wheel shipped.

 

I have been an 96-00 HX fan for a long time. Did you try searching car-part.com?

As for the Eco 1's, they look a little too bling bling compared to an HX. Do they come in anything besides a 17 inch rim size?

 

Eco1's come in 15x6.5 sizes, as well.

 

i say do it i ordered my si wheels directly from majestic and they overnighted them to me for no extra cost imo i would i still have one of the cleanest set of si wheels in my area as i am told

oh an ps i only use them in the summer time

 

They have arrived. Tires get here on Monday.

I did go to car-part.com (which is an amazing site) but I could only find 2 that were in "good" shape.

Majestic had 2, and 2 came from Ohio (note the different color strapping on the boxes). Not sure how many are left?
