*Firstly, pretty sure this post follows the rules of the forum, but if not, sorry*

I own a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport (2wd), and my friend recently offered to trade me straight across for his '94 Integra.. All stock, 5 speed, nothing wrong with it, plus it's way better on gas than my Explorer. I'm really on the fence about it though. Should I ask for some money on top of the trade? I really want the Integra, I'm just not sure if it would be worth it $$$ wise.

Any and all opinions are greatly appreciated.

 

miles on both, any modifications, what kinda of driving do you do?

No mods

I just commute 20mins back and forth to college, nothing fancy.

 

then kbb.com will give you the best judge on the value of both vehicles. i wouldn't ask him to add any cash, if it were me.

 

kbb says there's about a $500 difference.. Not that much I guess. Think I should just trade straight across then?

 

yup. considering he's losing gas mileage and you're losing space. pretty even trade IMO

I'd do it in a heart beat, But I also have always had boners for integra's. Seems like a pretty good trade from the info that has been provided.

Explorer is in pretty good condition, a minor scratch here and there, nothing serious.

Integra has a ding on the driver side under the rear window from a rock or something. There's also a foot sized dent from where someone kicked it on the passenger side behind the door, but that can probably be popped out no problem. Has a crappy maaco paint job, but that's no big deal cause I was going to paint it anyway.

And yeah, they both have clean titles.

 

id ask 4 cash on top its gonna cost alot to fix those dents especially if you dont know how to do body work plus after body work your going to have to paint the car or just paint where you did body work if anything post your car up for sale or trade

If you want the teg then i wouldnt worry about the 500. Even only putting 20 miles a day on your going to save that in gas within no time. Just decide what one you wwould rather have and stick with that.

Thanks for your help guys. I was really on the fence about the whole thing, but considering I really want the teg, and I can put a jdm dc2 front end on it (which I really want to do), not to mention I'll save loads in gas money.. I've decided to take the offer.
