98-02 auto tranny cure! it works :)
as everyone that owns a 6th gen accord 98-02 are known for its shitty worthless auto trannies. mine went bad around 80k miles and kept missing 2nd gear or just revs up and then sometimes grabs 2nd and chirps like crazy. 3 years n now 150k miles i been researching every website about how to fix the auto tranny or replacement and the costly price of doing the swap that you might as well buy another new car. I read that n ask some jdm shops that do motor swaps and they have no clue and havent figured it out how to make a jdm auto tranny to work or a jdm si-r h23 bluetop to work.
i own a fully built turbo h22a accord wagon cb9 n sold the motor and went all motor, i figured i will beneifit in buying a h23 blue top sir motor that has a aito tranny and figured out how to get it to work with my 2002 accord ex auto... years past buy and decided it time to fix it at 150k miles driving in one gear with d4 flashing, how to i get it to drive all these years? i unplug the front soliniod sensor so its in safe mode and drive sluggish till it reaches normal driving speed, it takes off in 3rd gear.
I drop the disconnected the stock auto tranny, the motor sits back further near the firewall, no problem ill pull the tranny fwd, wrong, it fell on my left hand n crushed it and ripped off chunks off my skin, no pain, weird huh? well after picking up the auto tranny and flipping it over since it fell on my hand and landed on its side so oil can spill out. i laid it next to the si-r motor. slightly different. rear bracket missing, it had a auto half shaft on the si-r, no speed sensor, where is it? i dunno bc it doesnt look like my old *** jdm h22a auto tranny.
so i installed the si-r h23 blue top tranny, which i was going to throw away bc i dont like auto. i install it like it should be and cleaned out every soliniod with brake cleaner in the filter, cleaned the magnetic oil drain plug which was pretty clean as hell for an auto tranny from japan and as i wire up the engine harness to the tranny..... 3 sensors does not fit, what did i do? swap them off from the oil tranny, 2 plastic sensor front n rear near the passenger side fender area of the tranny and one tranny oil pressure sensor right under the one in front, looks like a knock sensor, change those three and fill it up with auto tranny oil and it will drive all brand new again like it just came out of the dealer before honda screwed up with their auto tranny make. speedo and tach and all works fine, drive away happy for several more years.
only diff with the tranny is the rpm n gears are shorter a lil then the ex, its at a higher rpm then the old one but worth it bc honda makes piece of **** auto transmission and only way to get a good running auto tranny is from japan from an old lady with under 30k miles on it for a 99-02 si-r blue top tranny that cost me 700 with a complete motor, u mad? u jelly? **** works!
no! more@! going to a transmission shop n paying for a rebuilt tranny for $1000-2k bucks and it fails months later!

I had an 02 VP 4 dr with 175k and no problems with the auto tranny. Too bad an idiot t-boned it last year. Insurance paid for it.
Very good info for those who have issues with them!

yeah, i read millions had trouble with it n was forced to get a rebuilt from honda for about 2-5k bucks or transmission shop n still have problems. this really only cost me like 200 bucks bc the tranny came with the motor i needed for my other car

It's a flawed transmission design, fix the flaw and the transmission should last much longer. But if its already been cooked it's on its way out.
Bien, are you saying you dropped the transmission, some "oil" came out and now it's cured???? I'm not following the solution that seemed to fix the transmission....

After you put another 30k miles on it, check back with us and let us know if it's still holding up.
Also, your solution does not help the 6th gen V6 model 4 speeds, which were WAYYY more prone to failure.
