You need:
Y8 head
Y8 intake manifold
Y8 injectors
Y8/Y7 throttle body
ECU
Timing Belts for Y7/Y8 are same
Knock Sensor if you run the P2P (P28 doesn't use them)
Wire in Vtec
Wire 3wire IACV because Y7s use a 2wire
Good idea to change head gasket, throttle body gasket, intake gasket = preventative maintenance
Replace timing belt also if its needed

ok maybe 10 15 more HP then a stock z6..
z6 is a vtec motor.
higher compression is only good if you are doing a all motor build...
single cam all motor is point less... cost too much to for little gain...
not worth it...
higher compression with boost wont last long on a single cam....
If you have plains on boosting it go with the z6 also you want OBD-1... much easier to tune for boost then OBD-2

Alpha, the only thing you're good for is spouting misinformation.
A Y7/Y8 mini-me would be vtec, the compression of a Y7/Y8 mini-me is perfectly safe to boost, and absolutely no where did the OP say he wanted boost.
Seriously, do the forums a favor, and stop spouting your stupid assumptions.

I have had the same build. I also added boost. With out boost I really didn't notice any difference in power then my stock z6. What misinformation are you talking about. I have first hand experience with this setup...
Yes I'm aware it would add vtec, and I'm aware if you add anymore then 8psi to this setup it wont last long... Assuming its all stock, because the OP said nothing about it being built.
I had this same setup it was great until I added boost... After witch it didn't last long.
IF you had read what I said, I said "IF"
Just a Little helpful hint IF he is thinking of boosting down the road. IF the op is, I would go with a different setup.....
LOL The entire forum is full of other peoples assumptions. Don't get mad because someone knows more about this subject then you do... Stop being a little =D and let the OP decided what info he wants to use.
All I'm saying is doing a mini-me and/or Frankenstein build is just too much trouble... There will always be a problem, simple or major. If you build a vtec motor you wont have to worry about throwing a cell and trying to figure out what the problem is or what works with what. I have built many mini-me's and 2 Frankenstein's... I realized I wasted a ton of money and time. I should have just built a full D B or H vtec motor. Honda has an unlimited budget, these motors are already designed for full peek performance..
ITS JUST NOT WORTH THE TIME, MONEY & TROUBLE FOR MINIMAL POWER GAINS.
You are better off building a D vtec motor. You will have more power gains then with a hybrid....

OP get the Head and a new Head gasket. you will need to wire vtec and do the iacv plug change. get a p2p ecu. new timing belt/tensenor just cuz. y8 manifold and use the y7 trottle body with the y8 trottle rotor. im doing this all right now.

Mini me's are huge let downs.
Although I was glad I did mine because I got an extra 400rpms (y7=6200 redline y8=6600 redline) which helped a ton when I boosted the engine.
