The B16B is over rated. It has 185hp at the crank, but it has no torque. A JDM B18C (GS-R version) makes 180hp and has B16B-killer type torque.

I would rather have the GS-R swap because it is cheaper and it would beat the brakes off of the B16B because the power output is similiar but the low and mid power and torque of the GS-R motor is so much nicer tha the B16B.

If you want the best motor to drop in, then get the B18C5 USDM ITR motor or the JDM B18C ITR motor. I have this motor in my 1992 CX hatch and I would not trade it for anything. It put down 25 more whp than my old GS-R motor and it puts down 32 more whp and 20 more ft/lbs. of torque than my B16A2 in my other hatch.

B16B:
B18C1/B18C GS-R:
B18C5/B18C ITR:

Oh my bad - I didn't even answer your original question:

http://www.hondamotorsonline.com

The Integra Type R package goes for $4,800.00

The Civic Type R package goes for $4,200.00

The ITR is definately well worth the extra $600.00 for sure!

And again if money is a bit of concern, then look at the B18C non-R/GS-R package for only $3,300.00. Again it would be quicker than the $4,200.00 B16B package.

When you pay for the motor swap and the upkeep, then I think it constitutes at least 1/2 ownership.
