Everything from where the A pipe connects to the cat and back is entirely welded on by the previous owner. What's the best way to approach this? If I undo the first set of hinges that hold the exhaust up will it come down far enough so I can remove the oil pan? The welds look kind of brittle don't want anything to crack and cause a bigger problem. Car is a 92 accord.

 

it sounds like that's you're only option. Just be prepared if you do have to get it rewelded.

 

I've never welded anything in my life but I have JB weld on standby.

 

you can take it to a muffler shop. I would imagine it wouldnt cost more than 25-50 bucks.
