I just installed a remanufactured steering rack pinion with new in and out tie rods. then i filled it up with fresh fluid. and the weird thing started. The passenger side inner tie rod boot swells like a bitch. it looks like it is gonna exlope. and fluid is leaking from the little breather tube. im damn sure that all the hoses are connected to the right holes. any insights??

 

if the bellows are filling with fluid, rack is leaking. pure and simple

Man, that sucks-- I just put in a new rack today - haven't refilled the system yet, still gotta rebuild the pump - and now I'm a little worried. Please tell me your rack isn't a Cardone...

i bought mine from pepboy for 170. im gonna go down there tomorow and ask for warranty!!!!! its a pain in the *** to redo everything!!!!!!!!!!
