EP3 16x8 Offset help.
Does anyone know if that set will work? This was my former set up:

Damn trailing arm kept getting rubbed. These Volks are 16x7.5 +35. I want to go wider but that rear trailing arm is tricky, any advice? Make sure you understand that the damn trailing arm on the EP is a factor. Don't answer like it's a 2dr or 4dr Si please.
After thought, I had a 8mm spacer on the rear and didn't have anymore rubbing issues, would a 16x8 work with a 4?+ offset?
+42 with 17.5's

No rubbing
Help anyone?

I'm having a hard time seeing what you're trying to ask.
Are you asking if a 16x8 will fit? A +42 can fit, but I'm not sure anything with a higher offset will clearing the rear trailing arm.

What is rubbing against your trailing arms exactly..the tires or the wheels?
Can you post a shot of the barrel sticker or the box showing the size/specs of the wheels?
Like Matt said, I don't see higher offset clearing the trailing arms if the specs you stated do not clear the arms.
I happen to have some 16x8 +35 CEs that we can try on your car and know for sure.

Yeah, that was my question and I wanted to know the offset I'd need to clear that rear trailing arm. There might also be a slight rub on the outer wall of th tire because the rear fenders aren't flared right?
Yeah, the rear quarter panels are a pain in the butt to roll flat, but fitting 8's with properly sized tires is a bit tricky.

Well, 205/50/16's are actually undersized for the chassis, as well as 8" wide wheels. 225/50/16's would be the proper size for both the wheels, as well as the chassis.

The reason I asked for a shot of the sticker of the wheel is because I think you have the offset wrong. I don't think 16x7.5 5x114.3 CE28s were ever offered in +35, so, with the wrong offset in mind, it'll be hard to figure out what will or will not actually clear. GL.

EDIT: I don't have a box shot man, those were my old rims, sorry. I should've done that.
You're saying that because the tire would be over stretched right? I don't know much about tires but I know it's a bad thing when they rip apart, lol.
Well, I'm pretty sure the offset on those CE28s are/were +46 and that would explain why they rubbed against your trailing arm. Member <stevieg> on here has 16x8 +38 rpf1s on his EP with 225s and never mentioned any rubbing issues.
If I had to guess, I'd say anything +42 with *8 and smaller should clear just fine.

I'm just basing these statistics on the wheels you're wanting to run, as well as the proper sized tires for the chassis.

205/50/16's is what I had on the CE28's. I figured I could run those again.
