Default Weird Electrical Problem, help.

I have a 91 standard with a 5 speed. I just finished wiring everything and this is what happens.

First time I go to crank it I first hook up the battery I hear what sounds to be a relay in the car kick on. Its pretty loud but I cant figure out what it is. Almost like a circuit breaker.

I go to turn it over and she cranks but it doesnt turn over. So I go to take the key out of the ignition and the oil light and brake light are very dim and I can hear the chime ringing. I try to turn it over again and I just get what sounds like that relay thing or a SNAP sound and no starter at all.

But when I disconnect the battery and reconnect the neg terminal. It does this all over again.

Any ideas?
