Default Connect battery and ingnition on?

hey guy's have an electrical problem

89 ef7 crx
has had wire tuck from previous owner
ive just put in a b16 (see my thread for pic's)
pr3 ecu with 0bd0 harness.

okay so ive had it all connected and every thing worked mint even had the motor goin.
i put the gear box on and finished up the swap. when i went to connect the battery the boot light oil and battery light came on the dash, also heard some motor goin like fuel pump turning on put not primeing.

cheecked fuses and a few were blown replaced still the same. so connected battery and tryd to turn the key. when in the ON position the fuel primed but went to crank and nothing. no power at all.
i admit, i know nothing about the electrical side of cars but keen to learn.

ive only checked my valve cover to chassis, thermostat alternator and negative cable ground and they are all fine.
the underhood fuses are under the dash and the standerd fuses are fine but havnt touched the "larger box" fuses becouse i dont know what to look for

be great if someone can point me in the right direction as im lost with electric's but want to learn how it work's

People aren't touching this because you had a wire tuck.. I would bet $500 that the wire tuck is somehow related, unless it was done professionally and the person before you paid a shitload of money to have it done right.

The fuel pump priming on key on is related to the main relay. you should hear it click on and click off. Since the fuel pump just runs, it is likely something related to the main relay and ignition switch in some way.

I would also suggest that you should check your ground wires, because crazy chaotic electrical issues are easily caused by an insecure or missing ground wire.

Finally, if you have any ECU codes, you should report them here and/or fix them.

thank you kind sir!!

yes not done by professional at all!

but by far isnt a hack job.
im very new to electrical job's but doin my best to learn!

i have a ground from negative terminal to back of the boot. thermo is on vc to chassis done. brake light's grounded paint sanded. ground on front right kick panel sanded down and secure, am i missing any?

i have read threw this and many other's https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...2577924&page=3

but keep in mind when i had my barrel housing and bird's nest of loom it started electric's where fine, even the cigirete lighter worked all light's no prob's at all.
then i connect every thing up, clean the bird's nest of loom up in bay and then get this problem..

if u teach i will learn! can put up pics aswell

the EF also has a ground from the transmission housing to the battery holder..

On OBD0, there are no code 18 or 28's, so i think you are reading the CEL(s) wrong.

you might have a code 1 and an 8, which might make sense if you don't have the O2 sensor hooked up and you did an MPFI swap to run the B16.

so even thoe the battery is in the boot i should add a gearbox to chasiss ground? i asumed that ground was just grounding out the neg terminal?

There is a wire on the negative terminal of the battery that grounds to chassis, which is fine to have in the trunk/boot. There is also a standalone one that goes from the transmission to the chassis, which simply hooks to the battery holder, and not to the battery in any shape or form. I think you understood that, but just in case.

what is sparking out now? the battery? Because that is nothing out of the ordinary really..
