Cant get car into gear. B20 hydro trans.
Info:
B20b
B16 hydro trans
Cable to hydro actuator bracket.
My issue is that I cant get the car to go into gear. the cable is adjusted as far as it can be, and so is the cable/hydro conversion. I did figure out that if I lift the car off the ground, it will go into gear. It doesnt go smooth, but it doesnt grind or "clunk" in either. I also saw that if i just barely put the tires on the ground, when i put it into gear, with the clutch all the way in, the passenger side will spin and the drivers side will twitch. If I let the clutch out, they both spin.
Sorry for the shitty video, but its the best I could do.

The part that worries me is that it spins toward the rear of the car, not forward, when its in gear.
Would not having a VSS in the car cause this issue?
Anyone had a similar problem?

Sounds like the clutch isn't disengaging all the way. I would take a look at your install again.
As far as the tires rotating opposite directions: This is what happens with an open differential... If you looked at a set of spider gears you would understand why.
A VSS has absolutely NOTHING to do with the transmission assembly working properly.

I got to thinking and I know you are right about the diff. I didnt think the VSS would make a difference but I have seen weirder things. I have no idea what I can do to make the clutch get right. Is it possible that I over tightened the pressure plate bolts or something?

It def sounds out of adjustment to me too. Incorrect or stretched clutch cable. Or possibly a broken pedal assembly.
Is it hard to get in gear with the car turned off?

Slides in easy with the car off. I ran this cable when I had my Z6 swap in the car. I dont think that would be the problem. Pedals are fine.
If it's easy with the car off, then the problem is def that the clutch isn't disengaging. You should have about an 1/8" play in the clutch fork, meaning the wiggle room between throwout bearing contacting the pressure plate.
I manged tighten the clutch cable down a little more, and now the clutch pedal is heavy as ****. much more than it should be. Still doesnt disengage. I just put some washers on the pivot ball and there is roughly 1/8" of play where there was about 1" before I did it. Still no luck.
