f20b or h22a block which to buy????
I'm planning a h or f2b setup and im going to boost it. my question is which block is better for turbo i have read that the f20b block has stronger sleeves but i have no problem sending the block out to have it sleeved anyways. Is there anything that makes either blocks better than the other or should i just buy the cheapest one i can find?
Since you plan to sleeve anyways the fact that there aren't any off the shelf forged rods for the f20b would turn me away, the h22= bigger motor, larger valves, more potential. If I was doing it on a budget and looking for boosted longevity on stock internals I would go for the f20b. It has very stout internals from the factory i have yet to hear anything about broken f20b ringlands.

pistons for the f20b they also have a low compression piston you just have to call
as for the valves they are the same as the h22 its an h22 head
price for the f20b

i personally bought the f20b after also having your same dilema its been fun trying to see what works but im overall excited im using the pistons i linked above and getting custom rods made through bisimoto. what pushed me over to the f20b was that it was a high reving motor

No f20b intake valves are 34mm.
Yes they make pistons that's why I brought up the subject of off the shelf rods. But like I said in another forum, even getting a head gasket for the f20b is a pain in the *** and what happens if you bend or burn a valve? Good luck finding a replacement.

Get an h23 it has 95mm stroke and you won't be disappointed at all and if it gets boring get a f23 crank and build a torque monster it will be a 97mm stroker h23 and you can put higher compression pistons on it with S2P2 cams= a 260whp/180ft lbs torque beast. You can also rev it high till like 8 which is good enough it's like a frankenstein f22 with a h22 head but better.

no replacement for displacement people tend to forget this 2.2 is larger than 2.0 the h puts down a lot more torque and has a lower compression which will take better to boost and longevity the f compression is at 11-1 which is not recommended for boost just my 02. cents
