what cars have an f20b dohc vtec
hey, imlooking to swap an f20b into my accord. doees anyone know what cars came with these motors? im also looking for a vtec f22 motor. either one will work. but i cant find anythign on what cars have these. if anyone know please let me know the year and model and make of the car. thanks.
Depends on where your looking. North America or abroad?
No US Honda chassis cam with the DOHC VTEC F20B. Any US Ex (or CDN EX-R) from 94-97 came with an F22B1 SOHC VTEC. 94-95 were OBD1 and 96-97 were OBD2.
The F20B are only available via International importers, or bought used from someone who had one imported. they originally came in the CF4, CF5, CF9, CL3 Honda Accord and Honda Torneo from Japan.
Oh and last time I checked Google works and the Accord FAQ is full of info.
Let me Google that for you!
The very top link has every F series engine spec and the vehicle they cam in and there country of origin.
Sorry to be so blunt but you obviously didn't even try to search on your own for this information.....

Either that or the c27a4. The f22b1 will be more common though.

The C27a4 is the V6 model, it should be marked with the badges and has longer front end if my memory serves me right, The others will have the f22b1 VTEC and the rest of the models have f22b2 non VTEC. If you look on the block of the engine on the side facing outward theres a small flat spot with the engine code stamped in it. find one that says F22b1 and you'll be good. and you can find ALL this information on wikipedia, just by typing in "honda accord" on google.
Not without a lot of engine mount and chassis modification. You would be better to sell your I4 chassis and buy a V6. Then look into doing a 5spd Legend or TL swap. Early model Accord V6 automatic transmissions were the weakest link in the drive train.

is the v6 vtec?
All of the J series V6 are SOHC with ether VTEC or i-VTEC and most of the newer C series are as well. Older SOHC C series V6 were non VTEC.
