How long has this grinding noise been going on for?
How long was the motor running properly before it started?
Have you verified oil pressure, at the sending unit and or the vtec solenoid?
Are you burning any oil?
How long since your last timing belt change?
An overtightened timing belt can make an awful noise.

I would check the oil pressure and make sure your timing cover isn't coming into contact with either your cam gears, acc belts or crank pulley.
