Been working on my 92 integra this week, and finally got the fuel tank dropped to change a bad fuel pump. This is what I found:



The inside of the tank looks red and rusty as hell too, so I assume I'm going to have to replace pretty much everything. Is there any way to clean a rusty fuel tank?

I'm looking to buy a replacement pump and hanger assembly, but I can't seem to find one for a reasonable price. I see pumps on ebay going for as little as $30, but when it comes to getting the entire hanger assembly the price somehow shoots to nearly $200. Is there something I'm missing here or perhaps a cheaper place to buy the hanger piece?

What brand of pump would be recommend? I'm looking at the cheap ones on ebay, depending on how much this hanger assembly is will determine what I can spend for a pump. I've already priced a new tank to be about $80 shipped it looks like.

 

Just go get the hanger assembly at a junk yard. Either replace with a stock or upgrade to a Walbro 255

 

If you're modded, jump to a Walboro. If not, get the OEM one, and the assembly from a part out or junk yard like he said above.

 

Got to agree, bone yard for the "hanger", probably get the sending unit there also. and a Walbro or like me, I have a Holly in my 94.
