94 civic no power
i was driving my car today. stopped some where and shut it off. then when i got back in and tryed to start it, it cranked for a second and then went dead. i have power at the battery but everything from there has nothing. checked my fuses in the under hood fusebox and couldnt find anything. replaced my ecu fuse, and my battery terminal, still nothing. dash lights dont come on and fuel pump doesnt prime, so i doubt its the main relay. tried to jump the battery and it wouldnt draW power from the other vehicle. i dont have my voltage tester and the car is sitting in a parking lot so its hard for me to just go diagnose ****. i figure its either my battery or my ecu. anyone have any suggestions?
I'd try a known good main relay before anything else, assuming you open the ECU and don't see any obvious signs of damage. Also clean and tighten the G101 ground wire attached to the thermostat housing. And check the other grounds as well.
yeah i took the ecu cover off and checked it and didnt see anything noticable. yeah ill try cleaning that ground, im gonna try another battery in it and see if that helps. i had a poor connection at my battery so i dont think it was charging very well, but i dont see why it would just completely go out like that.
Why are you so thoroughly convinced it isn't your main relay? You said the fuel pump doesn't prime, that's indicator #1 of a fried main relay. They're cheap - replace it and see what happens.
