So the Prelude idle problems are well known and there are MANY threads about it, but I haven't seen many that blame the timing belt.
My idle has been bad for years and years (H23), and buying new sensors, and adjusting sensors, and doing all the common fixes never helped. A few months ago I did my timing belt using the manual tensioner and I took my time and did everything by the manual except for the tension. I basically got it as TIGHT as a I could and then finished everything up.
Ever since then I have literally had a perfect idle! It just sits at ~650 once it warms up...just dead even. No hunting or hiccups or anything. It was definitely the timing belt since that was the only thing that was changed.
FYI for future searches
