Default New 2011 Si

I got the car a few months back but never made an introduction....so HELLO

Its a 2011 Si in taffeta white as you can see. Purchased new in June of this year by my fiance, then she decided she wanted a new CRV instead. I sold my car, bought her a CRV and took the Si.

So far, completely stock with ~10k on it. Its still got 25,000 miles of warranty left, so no mods until that's up (maybe a flash pro, but shhhhhhh)

what kind of gas mileage should I be expecting? I'm averaging about 28mpg's mix driving.

Also, do I HAVE to put premium fuel in this thing?! its an NA honda!

Yeah, definitely put premium in her. I run 93 octane and she purrs. I get about 25mpg, but I hoon around like a madman (Just bought the car, gotta break it in!) but on the highway I seem to be getting 30+ mpg.

Please don't paint the wheels and stuff. I just got done shopping around for a used 8th gen Si and skipped anything that wasn't stock. Especially the ones with the painted wheels/brake calipers.

Now, I am digging those wheels over my 06's! Props on the car bro!

If you wouldn't buy a car because someone painted the calipers you must be a pretty picky guy. hahaha

It's a mentality thing. If the calipers are painted, it most likely means someone was gunning that thing all the time.

This is very true. Although with the Civic Si you've gotta assume that it was driven HARD.

I think the 4 door looks completely sick, but I didn't like how it was just that little bit longer, taller, and heavier. I like my cars to be as small as possible.

My calipers are painted and I certainly don't gun mine all the time. OF course, I'm prob a bit older than the average driver you're referring to with you comment so there's that, too.

Keep your foot out of it (I know, I know) and use premium and your mileage will go up. But keep in mind, these are Si's, not standard Civics. They won't be gettin' 40mpg... ever.

I have to agree there. That's why I didn't even bother looking at the new 2012 model. In my honest opinion, Honda is going the wrong direction with the Civic. It's getting bigger, fatter and heavier. 06-11 looks so much better.

Yeah, no offense intended to those with painted calipers. And if done properly, it looks very professional. I was more talking about the eager kid who runs to Wal-Mart for a can of spay paint at 2AM.

It's normal for a car's gas mileage to improve throughout the first few thousand miles. It's not an indication that the wrong gas was used.

Congrats on the car. As for mods, they're not going to automatically void your entire warranty. For example, installing an exhaust would only void the warranty on the exhaust, not on the entire motor or car.

Vladd the Otter?

also, what about a flashpro? If I used a flashpro to tune, and they found out, would it void the entire warranty?

I guess I'm automatically one who trashes in my car then...

Lol, if some of you say so. I drive her within her limits, but I don't mash on her like a noob. Although keep in mind I've been driving legally for over 25yrs. I assure you, I didn't paint my wheels and calipers then and I used to mash my Intergra like a noob.

As for the premium fuel, you'll actually lose mpg's going with regular, negating any savings from not going with premium.

Chances of them finding a reflash on the ecu is slim to none, i think they look a rpm count though so if your really worried just set the rev limiter to stock.

The red lip area was done with a small roll of 5mm red pinstripe. I just posted a shot of the car in the Sticky Photo Thread. It's minus the red lip because I had to peel it when I changed the rubber.

I guess I did have a shot in my photobucket of the whole car with the red lip.

Here's an overall shot without the red lip.

And this is how black wheels on TW looks like at night. People always mistake me for being lowered during the night, ..which is when I do lost of my driving.
