Default My 89 crx build, From the ground up.

Hey guys this is my first build on here,It really won't be a fast build i just recently had a babygirl so thats my priorities are at right now but a litlle about me, Im Kenny im 25 and this is my 1989 honda crx, comments are welcome.

When i first got it stock height and the loudest fart can you ever can put on a car.

Then i took it to the mufller shop to put a new one on sounds alot better

Then i put some rims on it, not my cup of tea in rims but better then my stockies which are 13" and bald tires,

Then i didn't want to drive high no more so i cut the springs worst mistake EVER!

Then, i got a great *** deal on some Work Ewing 3's im going to re-store them and throw them on the car when its all done.

Got somw si tail lights very mint

This thing is going to go in, in the near future.

Nice update, got some black work coilovers, and black work lower control arms and skunk 2 camber kit, yeeee!!

A big Thanks to Rick from Import Dps Philly NJ, if it wasen't for him my car wouldn't be riding good today!

Import Dps at its finest!

Forgot couple updates, i put on the suspenion and lca's on today "blackwork" there more of a fuctional setup, i wanted to slam the rex yes ain't going to happen. so ill go with fuction then lol. they ride very good tho. Im also putting a whole 91 si front end on it when i get the bumper, fenders, hood. ill post it up. then it will get the quaters done and them off to paint.! keep ur eyes peeled.

Nice work so far, definitely a good choice ditching those cut springs haha...
Wish we had an import store like that around here, that place looks legit.
Does it sit higher now on the blackworks than it did on the cut springs? Post up some pics of how it sits now.

+1

The BWR LCA are replica's/ knockoff's of Function7, correct?

Also, I'd keep the '89 front-end. If it's never been removed and is aligned straight no reason to remove it, just paint it. If anything though go with an SiR front to compliment those super JayDM wheels!

Love CRX's! Search around here (and elsewhere) for some truly inspirational builds like Nikhon, Captain Keys, etc.

Yeah cut springs was a no go! lol The place is very legit and the guys in there are customore freindly, they also paint and dyno there there very known around my area. The black works did sit higher but the ride is very stiff. Pics will be up shortly.

Black works are pretty known, as far as knock off's i doubt they are. Ive choosen the 91 front is the fact of how the whole from end flows better then the 89 just more and less opinions, sir clip is out of the pic, why? because theres about 7 crx's in my town that has it not my cup of tea that im going to be number 8, and the "super jdm comment" jdm is thrown around alot, no im not a ricer nor will i have super hella jdm camber or all the band wagon parts on here promise.

How much did you get the works for??
And what are your goals for the car? What's done to the motor that you're putting in it?
This gonna be your DD when you're finished?

This is with the suspenion on and lower control arms on, i haven't yet put the camber kit on until im ready to do my alignment.
If you look really close in the back wheel, above the break disk you can see where you tighting and loosing the spring. all shinny

Works as in? Suspenion or the wheels,
Suspenion i bought the black works for 550$ shipped
And the riims 300$
Motor wise nothing is done to it, completely stock, im taking off the head re-freshing it, all new stuff probably skunk 2 intake manifold, skunk 2 cam gears, make it have a lilttle pep.
This is not my daily driver, i also have a 2006 Nissan Maxima, and a street bike, this is just my little toy that im going to make it look simple and clean, but quailty stuff. When its done its going to be my weekend driver when i want to go cruise around by my self.

No hate here! I'm slightly jealous you have a CRX in the first place. My first car was a Y-49 and now a '95 PBGP hatch. "JDM" is oversued, but those Work wheels are a great choice for this car. I think the gentleman who asked about the cost of the "works" was referring to the wheels. Keep it up, and always use qulaity parts or you'll pay later!

If you see this thing in person you wouldn't be jealous bud, trust me lol its a work in progress and the work wheels are getting re-stored. but i think im getting rid of the auto x's and getting J-speeds 15x8 + 25 alittle more agressive. and deff am getting legit parts, keep your eyes open peeps things are going to move fast.

Lol, I had k-sports camber kit in the rear and none in the front. i went to a drive down a steep hill and my camber kit flexed and hit my frame and snaped. so mad.

Great CRX it's coming along great. When built right CRX can be very nice looking cars and also really fast too. It takes a lot of patients to work on CRX's especially when it comes to the motor swap. I Can't wait to see how it comes out in the end. Keep up the good work!

Happy Tuning!

Hey peeps, i know i need to show more pics, its just hard taking pictures in my basement its dark down there the lighting sucks, BUT, i do have some updates finally got my 91 front bumper in crispy as anything, all im waiting on now is fenders with i called honestly about 19 places and there all out of order, so my last resort is rockauto.com has them but for 220$ i geuss i don't have a choice huh? after i do that then my whole front end is complete, ALSO, recently i just picked up 2 things, 88-89 crx seats MINT as anything from a local guy, and also picked up a rear cargo cover off this guy off of here, so you can say my basement is a ef store lol so many crx parts my girl freind is going to go crazy if she goes down there, but all i waiting for now is my patch panels to come in get the guy to weld them up then paint and it should look like show room floor, comments are welcome peeps, comments and opinions away!
