Key fob silent operation, can't find help please!
Hi all, Nooby McNooberson here. I just bought a 2007 Honda Civic coupe this past Saturday, and every time I lock or unlock the car (on the FIRST button push!) the horn beeps. Once when locking, 2 twice when unlocking. I would love to have just the lights flash and NO horn whatsoever, but I can't find the answer anywhere, I've googled, bing'd, looked at different forums, but no luck.
Can someone please help? Many thanks in advance. I looked hard, really.

I looked there too actually, first place. Perhaps I missed it, I'll go check again right now.
Edit: went through it thoroughly. I found nothing about turning off the horn when you lock. It does say if you hit the button TWICE it'll give you a confirmation beep. The problem is, I get it on the FIRST button push, both locking and unlocking.

Hmmm, that is weird. I don't think there's a setting where it'll beep on the first click. Something's messed up, ...but don't quote me. Check with your local Honda dealership's service advisor. They may know for sure. Did the previous owner have an aftermarket alarm and for whatever reason parted it out prior to selling it to you? Maybe.
hey there is another simple solution friend. You can get advice from Honda technical customer care center by doing a single call. If you dn`t have there number then you can get that on google
Did not know about the call care center, thanks! I'll try that. I am going to dealer again tomorrow for another key, will see if they can help me there. Just thought it'd be easier than this...changed my 350Z in 5 seconds.
Thanks all for the help!

Thanks all for the help!
Lol called the 1800 999 1009 number, and they didn't have an answer. Disappointing. Looks like I'm down to the service center at the dealership tomorrow. There is some weird aux jack add on to the left of the steering wheel near the spare change bin, I've pushed the button that is behind that numerous times but it does nothing. Wonder if that's part of the problem.

That was the problem according to dealer. Aftermarket alarm. Says they can't do anything, suggested Car Toys. Took it there, and ninety dollars later the alarm is removed and I have nice normal silent operation.
