I need new upper and lower control arms for front end passenger side. From what I can find online the parts will run me $150 (anybody have any suggestions?). The mechanic I am thinking of going to is asking $200 for labor. Is this too much?

Also, I'm in sunnyvale CA. If anyone knows of a good mechanic that is cheap, I would appreciate it!

200 for labour is about right. But it should take no more than 2.5 hrs. especially if the control arms comes with the pressed in balljoint.

It might be cheaper at first, but add in the cost of new balljoints plus the mechanic pressing them in and it will come out to be more than just getting a control arm and pressed in balljoint.

 

Get the control arm with the joint pressed in. If you don't get OEM, consider MOOG:
