Default combustion chamber size vs. Bore size

Need your help! cant seem to find much info or the info im looking for. even calling machine shops who specialize in head porting cant seem to give me the answers im looking for. If this isnt the right spot it can be moved i just figured the drag racers would know since they are all about getting the most power out of a setup.

what im trying to find out is if there are pros and cons to running the same size combustion chamber vs. bore size as opposed to leaving the chamber alone but going bigger in the bore size. now i know going .5mm bigger bore probably wouldnt need maching the head to the same .5mm oversize but for example lets say going from an 81mm bore to an 84.5 mm bore and the leaving the chamber at around 80-81mm or taking it to 83-84.5mm.

i know opening the chamber up i will lose some compression, but if i dont is there anything i should worry about? i have read that not doing so can increase chances of detonation and sealing issues since there will be an overhang of the headgasket. most of the shops i have talked to claimed this to be a dark arts kind of thing that not many have the answers for but im hoping someone in here will. if you need any info on my setup i will provide it. goals for the car are around 700whp. Thanks.
