Default Teamjdm239's build thread! RHD,K20/K24 tuck and shaved bay,UKDM,MUGEN!

hey there guys , have had a couple people urging me to making a build thread after i keep updating them on parts and progress, so i figured why not haha

I'm Mike, I live in the naples area of Florida.
(teamjdm239 on K20a.org,teamjdm239 on tamparacing.com, K serious on Xbox live, and rhd dc2 on clubrsx.com)

a little background about the car, it started off when i was 16, my older brother was selling the car, and I really wanted it, so he cut me a deal.
came with a ls-vtec/ls trans and a itr wing with a horrible lip kit and set of wheels

so i kept it like this until i left highschool and got into high tech central for automotive service

i met some great people and they also influenced me and showed me how to improve the looks of the car, so i took their advice and pulled the lip kit off

i had then traded the 17's i had for some 16'' spoon replica wheels

i had then got tired of those wheels and picked up a set of dr20's

also i broke the bellhousing on my ls trans, went to a gsr, then got a crazy deal on a itr trans with a mfactory 4.92 final and a quaife lsd so i hopped on that.

i had then got tired of those wheels as well (I couldnt make up my mind)
so then i picked up a set of axis og oldskools in miami brand new (05-15-10)

ditched the lsv setup, sold it , sold my eg hatchback and went to miami and bought my first K swap! 09-13-2010
out with the B!

k20z1 motor, a2 trans, rbc intake and rcrew header

drilling the spotwelds on the bseries bracket (tranny side)

bracket in place and ready to rock!

k finally in! (forgot to take off the hoist chains before i took the pic lol)

got it running on a PRC jdm dc5 computer at first (no immobilizer, and was way cheaper than kpro) cause i could not afford a engine management yet

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=629rK...9&feature=plcp

had the exhaust welded, still running on the type r ecu
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBmY6...2&feature=plcp

when i got the swap on the road, 3rd began as a scratch then the 3rd gear dissapeared.

so i replaced the trans with a k20z1 which i picked up from a junkyard in new york with 26,000 miles on it (11-02-2010)

put it in, and decided i was going to do the s2k cluster swap!

created a bezel/faceplace for it out of some carbon fiber i had laying around,

suspension i went with ksport kontrol pros got them from assaultech for a very good price bnib 12-22-2010

I then was on a mission to buy a kpro ecu, so i went on clubrsx , and sure enough i found one for 900$, but i felt a little iffy, so i asked the seller if he would let me pay half now half later since he didnt have much rep.

sure enough i got scammed out of my 450$ dollars, but i was fortunate to get it back 2 months later from paypal.

i said "you know what? eff this.. im not even going to buy kpro, im buying a aem series 2 ems!" and what perfect timing it was, it had just been publically released.
i was so excited to have gotten a autographed pic from bisi, that made it all worth it! 12-30-2010

so i went to start my car since it had been so long, and it turned out aem had send me a faulty ecu, so i sent it back and waited....

found a set of ukdm/edm tails and a ukdm rear fog for a decent price and decided to pick those up!

then out of nowhere,i found the exhaust i wanted, the mugen gen1 02-09-2011

i then was set on building the k20z1 with a forged internal setup, stock compression ratio, with a big shot on it (150-200 wet direct port) so i went and bought wiseco 87mm pistons and eagle h beam rods! 03-15-2011

but what about for the engine bay? "just a little shave job, and brake tuck" said my friend, i agreed, and we began welding up some of the holes..
08-09-2011

i then came across a k24 block on craigslist, out of a 09 crv, (k24z1) with 700 original miles..
the price was right, and after doing research and finding out its one of the only newer motors thats actually usuable, i jumped on it!

started pulling my k24 apart and couldnt believe how mint it was. the cylinder walls still had the factory crosshatch from the honing!

i then had ditched the k20/nitrous build and decided to go high comp k24 with maybe a little nitrous, so i sold my rods and kept the pistons (k24 bore is 87mm so they were perfect)

so i bought a headgasket, and a mugen mirror cover from autofair honda! (rbsjnh on k20a.org) cause they always have great prices and hooked it up!)

then i bought a brand new s2k clutch master cylinder and the spacer from checkered sports

so weeks later after a bunch of work on the bay, and me working my fulltime job like a slave, i had more cash to work with, and bought some ukdm front fogs from a guy on here! "justjdm" and a chasebays hardline brake tuck kit!

i then moved the teg back to my house so i could work on it more (it was at my brothers down the road)

WTF!? the recaro fairy dropped these off at my doorstep! lol jk ordered some Dc2 recaros from khankn32 on k20a.org!

found and OEM integra type r lip on here and bought it ! from "jahraul"

test fit to trace out my foglight holes

fog surrounds in!

i then came across a crazy deal for a mugen gen 1 wing , so i decided to sell my wing to a friend of mine that also has a integra.

continued to work on the bay as i waited for more parts flow to come in, so i spot puttied the rest of the spots and began wetsanding..

got all the basic stuff done, now just a coat of epoxy primer, and then bay gets sprayed (as well as the car) keeping it pheonix yellow btw.

mugen wing comes in and im eccstatic (besides the fact that the emblems are black too :/ )

began polishing my rbc as well (i know I'm A-DD... lol )

still working on it, gotta find the right attachments for my dremel so i can get the seams absolutely perfect.

dropped my pistons and rods off at the machine shop so i could get the top eyeloop on the rods honed cause eagle has them honed for factory wristpins.. blehhh

got them back!!!

perfect fit.

got the pistons in after measuring the piston to wall clearance, and i called wiseco and they gave me the go ahead to put it together

also got my mugen racing3 steering wheel in the mail today. BNIB

stay tuned and lmk what you think!

BTW, I'm now 19, (20 in may) and this has been my car since i had turned 16..

lol thanks for the kind words fellas, the rears are rolled, but not the fronts, going to borrow the eastwood fender roller from a friend and do them as well once the car is together again.

lol thank you! it will all be color matched once the bay is primed again and it took very long to find the fogs , 1 in every 14 integras that were made in the uk that had these as a dealer option..

yea, they are pretty rare, I was going to go with the jdm front, but after seeing them popping up all over (especially in florida) I decided to go with the uk fogs/front.. To be honest I'm a sucker for the circle light fronts for some reason, now even more so.

i think i am probably the only rhd, kseries integra with a ukdm front in florida, but i could be wrong. i just havent seen one on the forums or at any meets

so i got a new update, i had a little setback, because i had not measured my piston to wall clearance so i went and picked up a telescopic/bore gauge, so i can measure my cylinders..

going to hopefully assemble it tonight, once I hone it slightly.

also i got my carpet in today! heres a teaser pic

ohh almost forgot, i got bored and decided I am going to polish both my clutch master cylinder, and brake master cylinder..

after:

more to come, stay tuned... and thanks for viewing!
