Question related to clutch buzz. AP1
Sorry if this is already here somewhere.
So my car definitely has clutch buzz, which I dont really mind. But it also does something else, that I think might be related. Just about every time I drive it more than a few miles, mainly city where there is a lot of low speed, low rpm driving and deceleration in gear, the car will start to feel like it's dragging. Basically it will feel as if the brakes are slightly applied when accelerating and coasting in gear. After a while, when I shift into first at a light, it will make a loud clunk and the dragging will stop and it is smooth again for awhile, then usually happens again. During this time I dont really rev it past 6k. Maybe the fact that I dont really wind it out has something to do with it.
Is this also due to the weak clutch or could it be something else. I should also add that just about all of the time the shifting is pretty notchy and I constantly have to do the 3-2-1 shift while sitting at a light to get it into first smoothly. sometimes I have to go back from second to first a couple times for it to go in without a lot of resistance.
I am pretty sure changing to the improved clutch would help and maybe the pressure plate fingers are rusted too. Just trying to get an idea from people who have been through it. Ive had the car about 3 months, been doing it the whole time.
Also want to add that I try to shift very smoothly and not force it at all.

clutch buzz on AP1s with a stock clutch is from the clutch disc springs. the fingers that hold the spring in place wore down and the spring is loose and sometimes they come out. causing that "BUZZ" noise. you will need a clutch soon. the other issue sounds like it maybe clutch related also since your experiencing BUZZ already. clutch may not be disengaging 100% due to the combination of that faulty disc and also a throwout bearing that isnt sliding like it should on the input shaft. probably all dried up ...
