zc hood/ sir hood
hey guys I did a search to find out if the ZC or SIR hood will fit my car(91 crx)and turned up nothing. I am pretty sure that they won't, but I always see people on e-bay selling them saying that no midification is needed and that it is a bolt on affair. r they just stupid or lying? as far as I know the headlights are thinner on the jdm's and the front bumper cover is shaped different causing these hoods to not work on usdm's.
My problem is that my b16 sits too high, I have the bump stops adjusted and the latch spring adjusted to keep the hood from hitting the valve cover, I did read that most people don't have problems with this though. I don't know what motor mounts i have but I know they are not HASport (mine rubber bushings).
N E answers or suggestions?

ZC hood exact same fitment as USDM hood.
SiR hood needs JDM headlights, rad support and bumper to fit properly.

that seems weird.
Do they have Si's in Japan. I thought they only had SiR's and that other luxury model we get the power everything off of. KA model or something..?
"SiR hood needs JDM headlights, rad support and bumper to fit properly"
Is the radiator support weld on or bolt on. and is there a bodykit maker that makes a Mugen style front end modified to fit with the original JDM hood?

Rad support is bolt on. This is an SiR 'Style' hood. That is almost the same as the real thing, just the Style one fits the USDM front end. What are you looking to do with the hood? you just want it for looks? Yes they had Si's in Japan.

i have a sir hood i could part with if you want to make an offer
would consider a ZC, but I might just go with a CF SIR(inverted) hood.
hmm call me an ASH-HOLE-LAY but I think that bumper looks good EVEN with the minimal non-aligned bumper to hood. seriously.. anyone have a SiR Bumper??? **** i'll do it. GOT ANY OTHER PICS FROM DIFFERENT ANGLES??

This is what you get when you use non -SiR parts onto a SiR.. it just doesn't fit.. in this case it looks like crapp..

the SiR has a B16a
the Si in japan has the ZC motor
then there is the 1.5x which is carbed..
all civics/crx's came with the "SiR" front end from 1990-1991.
only Si's came with a ZC hood from 88-89.
ZC hood bolts directly on without modification.

Just wanted to point out that the VIS CF SiR hood only fits the JDM front end, and not the USDM front end. If you want one that fits the USDM front end, the only one out there right now is Fiber Images...which is still too pricey for me
