Buying my first Civic/Project
Hey guys, I'm new to everything and this seemed like a good place to read and learn. I'm 18 and finally purchasing my first car, well that I've paid for at least. It's definitely going to be a DD and I was wondering what you guys thought about this car: http://baltimore.craigslist.org/cto/2854600241.html
How hard would it be to find/re-install an interior? And what do you guys think of the car from what you can see. I live in MD so I would just slap on historic tags to avoid inspection/emissions. Sorry if I posted this in the wrong section! New here
Thanks

On a side note. Buying modded cars can be good if you take into consideration the parts. I would rather buy a crx with a properly swapped b18c1 that needed some wiring work over a bone stock crx hf. But I'm a mechanic so I guess that has some to do with it.
I bought my first project car a year ago and its also my DD. I'm new to all of the mechanics and everything also. These cars are pretty easy to figure out so I think it's a good starting place. Mine was mostly stock when I got it just had a SOHC ZC swap in it and a gay body kit. Sometimes its easier to buy a car thats already modded but i agree that its someone elses headache cuz most of the time they sell them just cuz theyre sick of dealing with them. If u can find an Si then that would be a good start since it will already be MPFI. good luck with ur project
Thanks guys, I appreciate the input. I'm still looking for more cars. Definitely gonna be a Civic of some sort. I'll definitely give it a good long test drive before purchasing any car though.
At best I'd try to restore the "cargo" area and that's it.
This is very true! But also to an extent depending on your mechanical knowledge... and honestly if you DID get this car, don't bother trying to reinstall the rear interior... not much back there in the first place and almost no leg room for anyone who would need to sit back there. It's a 2 seater at heart.
