1996 honda accord Clunking noise.
Hello All: I have a 1996 honda accord dx. I had this clunking noise coming from the right front side of the car when you went over some small bumps in the road. I checked the Upper control arm and it was pretty worn out as well as the Lower ball joint. so I decided to replace the upper control arm on both sides as well as the lower ball joint wheel bearings, rotors, tie rods. sway bar bushings. pretty much everything except the struts. after doing all of this work, YUP, the clunk is still there. did I miss something or is it the struts?
Thanks,
Warren

I have the same thing going on my Accord, I'm too lazy to check it out. Will be watching for input. Either the Strut/mounts or end links.
Well Last night I took a look at everything under there, everything looked great and tight. all the bushings were in great shape. and the struts are not that old and they felt good. the only thing slightly loose was the upper control arm bushing bolts on both sides of the upper control arm. I tightened them down. I will see what happens.
I hope mine isnt this hard! I hear a clunking noise from the lower front passenger side, I figured it was a ball joint.
My Civic was doing the exact same noise, but this was after I ripped the living hell out of the lower ball joint bushings to take off the front sway bar. Oops.
