Accident at the track...insurance question
So I attended a non lap timed, non racing, advanced motorcycle training during a track day on a few days ago. I attended the event with a buddy. Well, during one of our last sessions. He ended up passing me in a place and in way that was not where or how you are suppose to pass. He had lost control, ended up side swiping me, and he high sided (he broke his collarbone and suffered a mild concussion) and I by some miracle was able to keep the bike up. However, my chain was knocked off.
He was looking at it today and said my swingarm needed to be fixed. If it was under 200$ I was just gonna fix it on my own and not report it against him. He is saying to report it since it was his fault. I have Socal AAA and have read varying things on the internet about it being covered as long as it was not a race and not timed nor competitive and it not being covered. However, in this case I was NOT at fault. Does anyone have any experience in this matter??

Also, my bike was ridable until a few turns later the chain fell off. Slight scuff on the left side is the only cosmetic damage, but that looks like it might just clean off.
I would not want to be in the loop on this one, keep a safe distance.
Take it to a dealer and get a estimate on having it fixed and hand the
estimate to your friend. Let him play with the insurance company.

Ok, I will do that thank you. Its on the way to a shop with his bike right now. Apparently his insurance company for sure covers educational track days. For future reference is there a way to insure for these kind of events? Its not a race at all as im sure you know.
