Sup HT.. Came across a problem the other day.. The mist from a can of throttle body cleaner made its way to one side of my headlight and caused some ugly cloudy marks on it. I tried washing it off, Even tried rubbing polishing compound on it, No luck.. has anyone had any great outcome with those headlight restoration kits sold at Autozone or such? I'd really hate to have to buy another set of headlights as these i currently have are aftermarkets..

 

I've used 3m headlight restore kit like 7 times on multiple cars always works. Get the sanding disk one.

 

Does it last or does it have to be reapplied over time?

 

I had my eye on the 3M one at Autozone.. Also thought about the RainX one too but it seemed too cheap to do anything.. Will pick up a 3M kit today and try it out. That is the 3M kit with the round sanding sponge inside correct?

Okay guys, i must say the 3M headlight restoration kit Has worked marvelously! My headlight looks brand spankin' new! I think ill even restore the other side headlight just to get it as glossy as the other one! I have pics to follow of the headlight before treatment and after treatment. Good looks on the product recommend Marvin!

 

Any advice or writeups for doing the inside of the lens?

 

It definitely lasts. Restored every headlight I have access to about a year ago, and they're all still crystal.
