97 type r too low :(
Ok so my dad is military and i live in okinawa. I have a 97 Type r and JCI is due. every 2 years you have to get your jci re-done which is basically a super crazy inspection where they try to get you for everything and basically have to have your car stock. when i bought the car it was low to the ground. one regulation to pass jci is you have to be able to roughly pass a 2 by 4 block of wood under it. i am off by an inch and adding bigger tires will rub which will really make me fail. the suspensions that are currently on it are yellow and i cant read it but it is like ***usco or something. well today i went to the junkyard and grabbed a set off a regular integra but these were aftermarket as well, however they were taller then my current ones by like a inch. however when i put it on my car went even lower which makes me think that the springs were bad
i have 2 days before my next inspection and i know that there is a regular integra at the junkyard and want to know if those suspensions will raise my car up. i really dont have the time to order any. and my current ones are adjustable but already at the highest setting. also if i could i would stick a piece of wood in the spring but they will fail me for that too. The 2 by 4 hits the resonator and also my tires are 195/60/15 . any advice? will regular stock integra suspensions work? thank you

Sounds like you are between a rock and a hard place. Since the inspection is very thorough, at this point, I would take my chances with stock suspension components. I'm pretty sure Honda didn't make a vehicle that will fail their homeland inspection with OEM components. Let us know how things work out for you. Good luck!

) That's just 3.5 inches (which is pretty low). You can easily be over 3.5 inches on stock wheels and suspension, or just get cheap adjustable shocks on Yahoo. they are about 50,000JPY used. Alternatively, just get 16 inch wheels. Also, you can extend your inspection as late as you want. Just get temporary plates (with the red slash) and tell them your car is going for repair so that you can pass inspection. I did mine four months late...no problem, no penalties.
^^ lol a 2x4 IS 9 cm tall. If you can find coils at a junkyard you can take fronts off any integra, just make sure you get the rear lower arms with the rear shocks.
They measure it at the Cat if i'm not mistaken. When i had to JCI My S14 Silvia i had to do the same thing. after raising my car all the way up on the coils. My only problem was my exhaust was 3 inch aftermarket and hung like **** so it was way too low. Took my car to a little shop just down the hill from the front gate of Futenma on 58, Got a different exhaust and passed.

thanks i got it finally passed, i just put stock springs and at the JCI inspection place they said i could use hose clips to get the cat flushed against the car so i am good now. and thanks MiriaZ finally passed after like ordering 10 plates. i wish they lasted longer than 3 days.
