93 accord acting up...
i've had the car for over two years now and well taken care of, mileage is around 220k. Car ran fine and strong for what it's worth, however now that it's starting to get warm, it's starting to act weird. The battery seems to be fairly weak and not charging even after long drives. I replaced the alternator last fall and took the battery for testing the other day still holding a 13.9. (battery is made 4/09 walmart) The car is also overheating and the auto tranny seems to be slipping, sometimes not going into gear including reverse at low speeds. The gauges die out when the battery is weak and come back when the car is in motion. I'm guessing this is all related to the alternator not being able to run everything at once? or a faulty one? I bought a new thermostat and will be replacing it next week (spring break) and the battery is charging as we speak. I'm going to try to clean my terminals with baking soda although there are no signs of corrosion. could it be bad wires?
huh, weird. upon inspection of the wires, the negative terminal from the battery to the chasis is connected, but from the battery to the tranny ground is torn off. I wouldn't be supprise this is when it's not charging fully... i'm hoping it's all a faulty ground
