Suspension installation prices??
I just called a local shop that was refered to me, and they were asking for $240 for 4 hours work... Does it usually cost that much or what? Im installing shocks and springs only......thanks
well, around where i live, anywhere from 130-300 bucks depending on who you go to. That's for springs and struts. I just did them myself and saved....
Yeah just do it yourself. It's not too hard... just gotta have some time and a set of spring/strut compressors. If not, you can probably find someone that will do it cheaper than that. Good luck.

I hope that you could do it yourself unless your username suggests your skills....
Honestly though, do it yourself. Buy a Helms factory manual if you need it or feel free to ask any of us questions if you run into trouble.

i say do it yourself, i've never installed shocks myself, but i'm gonna try when i get mine really soon...here it's $160 canadian for all 4...it looks so easy though, just need the spring compressor and a helms or someone here can always post a copy of the helms for you...
it feels really good when u finish working on your car and actually accomplish something, and made it better doing so, i think it makes u appriciate your car even more!
And the most important u don't have to keep getting ripped off by ******* mechanics...well they are not all ********, but the majority of them are!

i agree. do it yourself. not only will you get the self satisfaction of installing something YOURSELF on your car, you can keep a little coin in your pocket. i know when i get my spring/shock, its only going to touch MY hands!
Thanks for the input guys...but im only 17 and have no experience installion stuff.... nor do i have the tools... ill probably look around for other shops ... its hard to find
ONe of the oldest and best equipped Honda dealers in the East-Honda Village Greensburg PA-they do not gouge their customers and Yes it can be up to 4 hours worth of work. Also remember to get he car aligned (that is extra usually).
do the install yourself. find some friends with tools and ask them to help you out. I live like two hours away from LA. I could help you out, if drive out here.
i put on my GC coilovers. got quoted 170. took 2 of my friends couple of airtools and bout 3 jacks and a pair of spring compressors. took us 8 hours because the bolt on one of the lower A-arms was put on backwards....otherwise woulda been a breeze. save money do it yourself.
i live one hour away from OC.. too bad i can't help you. have my hands full on work & school.
i suggest that you explore your own car and get to know your car a little bit better. don't depend on mechanics do your own mods
so instead of paying labor to the mechanic, you can by some more mods.

me and two of my other friends did the whole car in like 1hour or less i think....if u have all the tools and epup. you should be able to do it yourself....well i guess it wasn't too hard cuss we got air comp. air gun with two jack and four jack stands but i'm sure you can manage it with couple of your buddies....haha...good luck...
p.s its not too hard to put it together to lower your car...unless you're trying to put it back to stock...you might not even need a spring comp. but its safe to use it wen you're taking off your stock springs...are u using your stock struts? we did it like 4 times back and forth....haha...be safe!

hrm..... i really dont think im doing it myself.....id rather bring it to a shop .. heh eh thanks guys...but i think ill look around ...
It's always good to learn. I just starting to learn about cars and I did my suspension no problem. A helms, a few friends, a spring compressor (DON'T use the pep boys Macpherson strut tool!), and some time is all you need.
hey man, I'll install that stuff for you $80 about 1.5 hours- 2
