Replace 92..95 Spindle with 96
Since honda has so graciously discontinued the drum backing plate for the 92-95 civic 4DR LX 5sp,
CAN I....
Get the rear spindle from a 96 trailing arm and have it fit?
Then I can use a shiny new 96 backing plate.
Which fits the 200mm drums and shoes and hardware and such, and THEN maybe?? Just maybe not have huge problems with prop valve and MC and booster? Wheel cylinder is the same so.....

It should be the same actually. The plate itself should also be the same, IE you shouldn't need to swap the spindle.
Sometimes Honda does weird stuff with parts. There are some boots for the brake caliper slide pins for '92 - '95 Civics with small front brakes you can't order from Honda, you need buy the whole caliper, but you can order the boots for '88 - '91 Civics and they're the same. You can't order any of the boots for the '96 - '00 calipers and they're still the same as well.

The plate isn't the same. I have the plate for the 96 sitting on my lap. The flange bolt holes are in different positions. the 96 is 200mm brakes and the 95 with 5sp is 180mm brakes. The flange bolt holes are 'centered' based on each diameter, thus, not fitting.
I looked and looked and looked on hondapartsnow. It ain't there. Backing plates from 92-95 are discontinued.

should be pretty easy to find the correct ones on craigslist for cheap, people are always taking them off for rear disks, try posting a WTB on CL and in the HT market
Yeah. I also have Right and Left of the right size from the boneyard sitting in the workroom. Rusty, and with the tabs worn down the same as the ones that are on the car...screwing up my shoe alignment...
