How can I bring my front strut towers closer?
Hello Every one,
I have a 90 Accord LX sedan. I just bought a Sprint strut bar that looks just like the Neuspeed 4 point bar. I am having problem installing it. The bar itself is about 1/4" short from the 2 UCA bolts on each side. If I can get the UCA bolts on, I can get the 2 strut little bolts on. I have the car on the ground and been pulling but this bar is good quality and it won't stretch. I have used a rubber mallet to try to spread the bar apart with no luck.
So I am trying to figure out which way I can jack the car up so I can bring the 2 strut towers closer together? I am thinking of threading in loose the bolts on the passenger's side first. Then try to flex the car by jacking it up and try to get the other 2 bolts on the driver's side in. So with this technique which side should I jack up to get the strut towers closers to get the bar to drop in the driver's side so I can thread the bolts on? Should I just just the front or both front and rear of the same side?
Any one has this trouble before where your Neuspeed bar is a little short? Most of the thread I read, the bar is a little too long so jacking the car in the center front would bring the strut towers apart.
Thanks.

I found some thing interesting, though it's not a CB but it's a helpful demonstration.

Does it not have any form of adjustment?
Often times these bars will have threaded end links going to the mounting plates.
I am no suspension guru but jacking up the car to get this thing on does not sound like a good idea.
That bar you have is only designed to reinforce chassis rigidity, if you somehow "stretch" the towers to fit it you would end up with excessive force on it while the vehicle is at rest.
These loads would be even greater during cornering or times of chassis flex and I doubt that bar would hands that well.
It would seem this could also cause alignment issues.
Are you certain you have the correct bar for your car?
Have you ever been in a front end collision which could be causing the fitment issues?
