Default JDM Type R tranny into '08 Si??

Quick question, would a Jdm Dc5 Type R tranny work with a 08 Si. Mine blew after 3 days of owning the car, which was bought from the Honda dealer. They probably aren't going to cover it under the 60k powertrain warranty because of a aftermarket clutch. Im not sure if i would even want a ticking time bomb tranny. Lmk thanx.

How does a tranny "blow"? What's wrong with it?

Blew as in stripped gears, or as in shifter went? I am unsure of what you refer to as blew...

You will have to change some things to make it work!

The shifter mechanism that comes out of the tranny is different, backwards i think and has to be changed over

I think the sensors may need to be changed also

Let me know if you want to sell off the dc5 parts, as i am doing the opposite of what you need to do, lol

Car was bought last Sat from a Honda dealer near Atlanta with 54k miles, drove back to Fla and by the 3rd day, 2,4,6 and reverse would not engage. 2 days later, While skip shifting (I know, bad) back from the Honda dealer 5 mins away, I could not put it in 3rd or any other gear and when I let off the clutch slowly, the car would act like it was in gear and act like it was going to stall. I know these trannys have a lot of issues. The Honda dealer by me said, if the clutch wasn't OEM, it wasn't going to be covered. The bolts to the tranny were turned and my mechanic said it felt like it was aftermarket. He owns a 1st gen Talon Tsi, Awd turbo. So yes, u can call that "blown". Redneck Georgia has no lemon laws for used cars, only new. Which is bullshit, considering I paid $15,000 for this.

they have to provide sufficient proof that the aftermarket clutch failed ur tranny. have them replace it.

The Si is "pimped out" already. And they are trying to go with the old " its been raced" b.s. The Si has a Greddy exhaust, K&N intake , lowered on white OEM wheels, full HPF lip kit w/ fogs, short shifted, HiD's, Dvd, etc.

Have you checked the clutch fluid? Tranny fluid? What about the clutch itself? Trannies don't just randomly grenade.

The clutch and tranny fluid are both ok. It sucks that I am going to have to have them open the tranny up and if it isn't the clutch, then I have to pay $900 in labor charges. That $$$ could be used towards buying another.

The clutch reservoir isn't leaking? I just find it hard to believe that a tranny would just crap itself like that. I'd put money on the clutch being bad.
