Adding stock truck horn to eg civic
1995 Honda Civic
Problem: Adding horn
Solution: Isolated horn and added rubber as a spacer, horn works fine
I was tired of having a little toy car horn, a civic is a toy car so the horn is appropriate size, but I know people can not hear it on the highway or they would acknowledge me.
So I was at the junkyard and got a delco-remy stamped 8203 out of an old chevy? truck.

1. Stock Civic horn works when on vehicle
2. Truck horn works fine when it is not on vehicle. It is grounding out on frame because when I give it power it goes off.
* Horn is grounded when bolted onto frame without ground wire attached
3. Switching horn wires blows a fuse, obviously because it is grounded on the car frame
4. I tried only grounding horn and pushing horn button, nothing happens, not surprisingly.
How do I add a stock truck horn to my civic without running new wires, new switch?
Not sure if important
*SRS is disabled, I am using a shoe horn and the wire to the yellow SRS plug for the stock horn button to work
*Problem Solved
Isolate horn so that it doesn't ground out, no metal from the horn can come into contact with metal from the car, horn works fine
