Drag Radials??
Ok so I have a 95 Acura Integra. I wanted to run slicks but a buddy of mine is telling me to just do drag radials, that way I can run on street and strip. Well I'm having trouble finding the right size and kind of radial I should get. Right now I'm running regular street tires 205/45r16 and the car is pretty low so it sits right on the tires, but I have adjustable coilovers (I've put 22x8 slicks on it before). So I could really use some input on this about what size and type of radial I should get! Thanks!
Honestly slicks are the way to go at the track. I did the radial thing for years and immediately got my 60fts from 2.0 to 1.75 with slicks. More seat time and that's goes down into the 1.6s.
If you are having trouble hooking up on the street I suggest reducing the preload on the rear suspension a little bit

I am making 309 whp at 10 psi.. ls 5 speed transmission.. I think I would rather do slicks, I was just wondering if you guys felt any different! Im thinking a 22x8r13 slick..I just don't want to spend tons of money on them..any suggestions for the best prices on slicks and wheels?

Slicks are best. but if you must go with a radial go with a 225-50-15 thats a tad over 23" and gives you plenty of sidewall. Im currently running the bfg drag radials on 8 cold psi ,but about to move up to the Hoosier
dot radials.
dot radials.
I think I will end up doing slicks because for one they look way cooler at the strip lol..and 2 I would have to buy new wheels for the radials anyway..what slick and wheel setup to you guys suggest..i have been looking at the combo on exospeed with the 23" mh slicks and 13" lenso wheels for 630.
see if you can find some locally used ones unless you go to the track like every week. it could save you money. slicks have holes in them to gauge the remaining tread. something like 23x8 would be good, on a 13" wheel if possible. just make sure to check backspacing to make sure they fit over your brakes. now you've gotta work on the preloading at the track!
drag radials work on rwd cuz of weight transfer, fwd no way, fwd cars need the slicks for thesse reasons, sidewall and rubber compound, u will never get traction with a stiff sidewall tire on a fwd a guarentee u buy slicks and be done with it.
